After skiing with a Phenix soft shell jacket as my only outer layer for many years, it’s ability to handle blizzards, wind and sub freezing temperatures have convinced me its the greatest jacket ever made; it offers the benefits of Gore-Tex (waterproof, breathable, windproof, retain heat) without being a hard shell.
